New O2H Collection of Transparent Carry-On Travel Bags Raises Money and Awareness
Las Vegas, NV (PRWeb) February 13, 2007 -- The new line of 02H Transparent Carry-on Bags, created by American entrepreneur Mary Shriver-Bugatti in response to the new travel restrictions imposed by the Transportation Security Association (TSA) and other security agencies, offers travelers smart, convenient and stylish options when passing through airports and security check points.
The 02H (“Nothing to Hide”) Transparent Carry-on bags are the country’s first branded collection of clear travel and accessory bags and available in six different styles. The TSA compliant 02Hide collection is ideal for traveling, as the clear bags are themselves a symbol of trust and a statement of cooperation for the agencies working hard to keep us safe.
The line includes a city bag, tote, sling backpack, backpack, messenger bag, and a cosmetic bag and each includes a detachable luggage tag. The bags are priced between $28- $42.00.
All of the bags are constructed of lightweight high quality 100% recyclable PVC, embossed with the 02H logo and trimmed in black faux patent leather. In addition, they each include a detachable luggage tag. As an alternative to the one-quart plastic baggies many travelers are carrying their personal items in, the small tote includes a complimentary matching one-quart transparent cosmetic bag (easy open/close zipper feature).
The new collection is available online at www.02Hide.com and soon at leading department and specialty stores.
Because raising attitudes, awareness and support for global security was the driving force behind Shriver-Bugatti’s concept, she decided to donate a portion of the net proceeds from each 02H purchase to the international not-for-profit group, Families of September 11 (founded by family members of 9-11 victims). The group’s mission mirrors Shriver-Bugatti’s sentiments -- to raise consumers’ awareness on the traumatic effects of terrorism and to champion international and domestic policies to prevent and protect against terrorist threats.
Through its website and outreach to the community, Families of September 11 is committed to improving safety and security and raising awareness to the cause of fighting terrorism. The group’s board members pushed for the formation of the 9/11 Commission and continue to work to ensure that its recommendations are put into law.
Besides being functional and fashionable, the 02H Transparent Carry-on Bags are themselves a symbol of support. “This line was created for those who are proud to show they have ‘nothing to hide’ when they travel for work and pleasure,” says Shriver-Bugatti, born into the Shriver family legacy and, who in spite of the times, has a refreshingly hopeful vision for the world.
“These bags are designed to give Americans a very visible way to show their support for the government agencies trying to protect us. It shows support and cooperation and collectively we can all help build a community of trust.”
Just like the awareness initiatives of U2 singer Bono and the recently launched {red} line from Shriver-Bugatti’s cousin Bobby Shriver, 02H is evidence of a shift toward “conscious consumerism.” Shriver-Bugatti hopes to raise the level of activism in the world. Her website even addresses the seeming dilemma: “Yes, I care but what can I possibly do about it?” with three easy steps to follow. If all this “awareness” and “activism” rhetoric sounds preachy, she is counting on it. She knows that not everyone will write a “big” check or a letter to their congressman, which is exactly the idea behind the new collection. “Simply buying the bag is in itself a form of activism. When you buy the bag, you make a positive statement about your role in peace, and that’s what really matters.”
